Chris Wiegert, Assistant supervisor of the west coast hitch, snapped a few behind the scenes photos of the Budweiser Clydesdales during their appearance at the L.A. County Fair.
The Clydesdales took long laps around Barrett Race Track at the fair grounds on Saturday and Sunday while fans watched in awe from the grandstand.
Their last appearance on the track will be this Sunday (October 6th), so if you haven't had a chance to see them make sure you make it out before they leave.
How Are The Buns Created?
The tail is separated into three clumps of hair and braided all the way to the end. Then the braid is wrapped into a bun and finished off with a decorative red and white bow.
How Are The Braids Created?
The mane is one long continuous braid. Hair is added as we weave the parts of the mane together. Once completed, red and white flowers are added to accentuate the braid.
Red and white are used when braiding because they are the colors of Budweiser.
It takes 5 people to braid 8 horses. One person braids all 8 tails, and then the other four each braid one team mane and foretop.
