The Budweiser Clydesdales were once again featured in the Rose Parade in Pasadena California on New Year’s Day. It was the 125th anniversary of the parade and the 57th appearance of the majestic Clydesdales. Although it was not the first time the prized horses gracefully marched in this annual parade, they were still met with the same warm and plentiful excitement as if the first.
While the Clydesdales marched through the six mile parade in front of the hundreds of thousands of jovial spectators, they pulled the president of the parade committee and his family. The president had his choice of any entry in the parade, and this year he chose to ride on the Budweiser Clydesdale wagon. Through consistent exercise and great care, pulling a wagon like this one is an easy task for the robust iconic horses.
The 2014 parade was the first year the Clydesdales pulled the beer wagon instead of a float. Once again, everyone was very excited to see the Clydesdales in the parade and welcomed them with cheerful smiles and applause.
